Part of a series that documents real New Yorkers and their love affair with food.
Randy Zelin is a partner at Moritt Hock & Hamroff LLP and heads the firm’s white collar defense and government investigations, compliance and internal investigations practice areas at their Manhattan office. Mr. Zelin also regularly appears as a legal analyst on FOX News, FOX Business, and FOX Radio to discuss important trials and legal issues. He has also spoken on the O’Reilly Factor, Geraldo at Large, Nancy Grace, Tru TV, CNN and CNN Headline News. He is a frequent lecturer and a two-time SuperLawyer. Mr. Zelin is a dad of three, a gym addict and loves dining in Manhattan.
With a hectic schedule, he has rarely had the time to use a lunchbreak waiting for a food truck line to calm down; “For lunch I’ll bring in leftovers from dinner” he adds, “but I definitely use online ordering when I can to make life easier.” Mr. Zelin makes a conscious effort to useFoodtoEat when he can, “I think it’s important to use a site like FoodtoEat when possible to help local businesses keep the profits they deserve to keep — I’m a believer in keeping what you earn.

His current favorite restaurant isErminia, a Roman restaurant with a romantic atmosphere nestled in the Upper East Side. He says, “it’s wonderful Italian food in a beautiful setting, I definitely suggest eating there.” He likes that he can easily make reservations through Open Tableor Ermenia’s website. When there, he usually orders one of their chicken dishes. He notes that the Mozzarella di Bufala (the roasted peppers are wonderful!) and Pappardelle alla Campagnola (homemade wide noodles with artichokes, sausage, porcini, zucchini in a light tomato sauce) are also incredible options.
He encourages tourists and locals to try Timmy’s By The River, a diner in Yorkville. “Unlike the typical diner, you can eat outside and can see the foliage of Asphalt Green.” He orders a turkey burger with no bun and an iced tea — this, he claims, is the City’s best turkey burger.
